Willow Courses for Teachers

One day hands-on courses for teachers and teaching assistants that cover the cultivation and use of willow in schools. A variety of willow weaving techniques using both dried and freshly cut willow will be taught.

Comprehensive sets of instructions for simple projects to make with children such as crowns and wands, fish, butterflies and flowers and simple trays will be given out at the end of the courses.

Courses start at 9.30am and finish at 3.00pm unless otherwise stated, the price includes all materials used. Tea & coffee are provided but you'll need to bring a packed lunch.

CHRISTMAS CRAFTS FOR THE CLASSROOM
Course participants will learn to make a variety of willow Christmas decorations that are suitable to make with children including wreaths, stars, chains and trees. Great for raising funds at school Christmas Fairs.

WILLOW MAINTENANCE AND WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR WILLOW
Course participants will learn living willow maintenance and use of willow in schools, how to store the harvested willow and what projects you can then make with children. Course participants will help maintain a living willow structure on site and also make a variety of projects such as crowns and wands, fish, butterflies or flowers.

PLANT SUPPORTS & WILLOW FLOWERS FOR SCHOOL GARDENS
One day course to make a large plant obelisk for supporting runner beans or sweat peas and a giant sunflower for decorating school gardens.
