Our group is very informal and all are welcome whatever experience.

Basketmaking

What could be more satisfying than making your own beautiful willow basket. On our comprehensive courses participants are shown how to weave with a selection of dried willow using a variety of traditional weaving techniques. Full instructions and materials are provided. Suitable for complete beginners and intermediates.

All courses start at 9.30am and finish at 4.30pm unless otherwise stated, the price includes all materials used. Tea & coffee are provided but you'll need to bring a packed lunch or adjourn to the local pub.

PROGRESSIVE BASKETRY COURSES
A series of six, one day courses held over a period of six months designed to introduce traditional willow basketmaking. Different weaving techniques will be taught throughout the courses to make a variety of baskets.

• Small round basket - introduction to new weaves

• Blackberry/nut gathering basket with handle

• Framed garden trug

• Small oval basket

• Oval or round shopper

• Consolidation - using skills to make a basket of choice

Cost: £50 per one day course. 9.30am to 4.30pm
